Notes

'Albus' red valerian (Centranthus ruber 'Albus') is a perennial for borders, containers, and low maintenance gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full sun, average moisture, and sandy, loamy, or chalky soil. It bears fragrant white flowers from early to late summer and again in autumn. Butterflies and birds visit the blooms. Deer usually look elsewhere for a meal.

Pairs well with Ostfriesland sage, Moonshine yarrow, Silver feather grass, and Patricia crane's-bill.
