Notes

'Alexander Hunter' camellia (Camellia japonica 'Alexander Hunter') is a shrub for borders, woodland gardens, and pollinator gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 7, or down to 0°F (-18°C). This plant likes part sun and average to wet soil. The evergreen leaves tolerate salt, and bees and birds visit the flowers. It is not a favorite of deer, though hungry deer will eat almost anything. The shrub blooms from winter into spring.

Pairs well with Cherry laurel, Wax myrtle, Obedient plant, and Great blue lobelia.
