Notes

'Alexander' rose (Rosa 'Alexander') is a shrub for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and specimen planting. It is hardy to USDA zone 6, or down to -10°F (-23°C). This plant likes full sun and loamy or clay soil. Fragrant vermilion blooms appear in late spring, again from early to late summer, and into early autumn. Bees visit the flowers. Jack L. Harkness bred it in 1972, and thorny upright stems carry light green leaves.

Pairs well with Clary sage, Blue star, and Butterfly bush.
