Notes

'Alkaja' peony (Paeonia 'Alkaja') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and specimen plantings. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Its single, bluish-crimson flowers have a pleasant scent and open early in the spring season. Deer and rabbits rarely make it their first choice. Tall stems spread as the season goes on, so give them support.

Pairs well with Autumn Frost hosta, Sedge, and Bobo hydrangea.
