Notes

'Bartzella' peony (Paeonia 'Bartzella') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and specimen planting. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist soil of most types. Roger F. Anderson bred it. Deer and rabbits tend to browse other plants first. The fragrant yellow blooms have red flares and attract butterflies and bees.

Pairs well with Phantom panicle hydrangea, Pyrethrum, Cheerfulness daffodil, and Polish Spirit clematis.
