Notes
'All American Chief' daylily (Hemerocallis 'All American Chief') is a perennial for borders, pollinator gardens, containers, and low maintenance beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, loamy, clay, or chalky soil. Rabbits tend to nibble other plants first. It grows 24 to 36 inches tall and blooms in early to late summer. Butterflies, hummingbirds, bees, and birds visit the fragrant flowers.
Pairs well with Nodding onion, Western sword fern, and Musk mallow.
