Notes

'Alpine Aire' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Alpine Aire') is a perennial for borders, perennial beds, and cut flowers. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Eldren W. Minks bred it in 1971 as a sport of 'Festiva Maxima'. White semi-ball blooms open in mid to late spring and early summer, with frilled and laced petal edges. Stems are strong and carry 1 to 3 buds, and the foliage is glossy.

Pairs well with Cheerfulness daffodil, Aromatic aster, and Scentara Double Blue lilac.
