Notes

Alpine columbine (Aquilegia alpina) is a perennial for borders and low maintenance gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist soil of most types. It blooms in spring and again in summer, and it draws butterflies, hummingbirds, and bees. Deer and rabbits tend to pass it by. It also tolerates drought once settled in.

Pairs well with Foxglove, Peony, and Purple Sensation ornamental onion.
