Notes

'Purple Sensation' ornamental onion (Allium hollandicum 'Purple Sensation') is a bulb for borders, cottage gardens, cut flowers, and containers. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist soil of most types. It grows up to 36 inches tall and draws bees and butterflies. It is not a favorite of deer or rabbits, though hungry ones will eat almost anything. Plant it in groups for the best show.

Pairs well with Queen of Night tulip, False indigo, Anise hyssop, and Standing Ovation little bluestem.
