Notes

'Black Barlow' columbine (Aquilegia vulgaris 'Black Barlow') is a perennial for borders and low maintenance gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist soil of most types. It blooms in spring and again in summer, and butterflies, hummingbirds, and bees visit the flowers. Rabbits tend to pass it by. Plants reach 12 to 36 inches tall.

Pairs well with Foxglove, Lupine, Roma greater masterwort, and Silver feather grass.
