Notes
Silver sage (Salvia argentea) is a perennial for borders, rock gardens, and xeriscapes. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to average soil of most types. The large, wooly, silver leaves are the star, and branched stems with large, white, hooked flowers appear in its second year. Plants may reseed to continue your population. It is not a favorite of deer, though hungry deer will eat almost anything.
Pairs well with Munstead lavender, Blue fescue, and Creeping thyme.
Native range
Africa.
