Notes

'Apples of the Hesperides' peony (Paeonia 'Apples of the Hesperides') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Fragrant, near purple, semi-double flowers have frilled, ruffled guard petals and attract bees and butterflies. It sits low on the menu for deer and rabbits. Joshua Scholten bred it.

Pairs well with Krossa Regal hosta, Blue grama, and Cheerfulness daffodil.
