Notes
'Arabesque Red' beardtongue (Penstemon 'Arabesque Red') is a perennial for borders, containers, and pollinator gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 6, or down to -10°F (-23°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to average, sandy, loamy, or chalky soil. Hummingbirds, bees, and birds visit its flowers. It is not a favorite of deer or rabbits, though hungry ones will eat almost anything. It tolerates drought and salt, so it needs little care once settled.
Pairs well with Tawny King red-hot poker, Obsidian coral bells, and Agapanthus.
