Notes

'Arendsii' azure monkshood (Aconitum carmichaelii 'Arendsii') is a perennial for borders. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, loamy or clay soil. It bears azure blue flowers from early to late autumn on plants that grow 24 to 48 inches tall. It sits low on the menu for deer and rabbits. Give it a spot where late color is welcome.

Pairs well with Autumn Blaze maple, Dr. Alexander Fleming peony, and Berry Poppins winterberry.
