Notes

Arizona cypress (Hesperocyparis arizonica) is a tree for specimen planting, hedges, and privacy screens. It is hardy to USDA zone 7, or down to 0°F (-18°C). This plant likes full sun and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Its bark scales off to show inner bark that shifts from tan to plum to red. Deer rarely make it their first choice. Birds use it for cover and nesting.

Pairs well with Italian cypress, California poppy, and Society garlic.
