Notes
'Auguste Gauthier' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Auguste Gauthier') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The crimson-pink blooms have silvery edges and open in early summer. They are fragrant and sit above compact, upright clumps of dark green foliage. Modeste Guérin bred it.
Pairs well with Carnaval De Nice tulip, Royal fern, and Alaska violet.
