Notes

'Aurea' Scotch pine (Pinus sylvestris 'Aurea') is a tree for specimen planting, accent, privacy screen, and winter interest. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full sun and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It grows at a rapid rate and has a columnar shape. Deer tend to browse other plants first. The evergreen needles are fragrant, and birds visit the tree.

Pairs well with Witch hazel, Prairie dropseed, Ice Follies daffodil, and Staghorn sumac.
