Notes

'Avalanche' birch (Betula 'Avalanche') is a tree for specimen planting, accent, and winter interest. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, sandy or loamy soil. It blooms in early to late spring. It is not a favorite of deer, though hungry deer will eat almost anything. Plant it where its bark and form can be seen in the cold months.

Pairs well with Sensitive fern, Common snowberry, Carlton daffodil, and Sedge.
