Notes

'Avignon' tulip (Tulipa 'Avignon') is a bulb for borders, cut flowers, containers, and cottage gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full sun, average moisture, and sandy, loamy, or chalky soil. Its purple-red flowers open from early to late spring. The stems reach 24 to 36 inches tall, so they work well in a vase.

Pairs well with Maureen tulip, Fringed bleeding heart, and Jack Frost Siberian bugloss.
