Notes

Baby's breath (Gypsophila paniculata) is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and cottage gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to wet, sandy, loamy, or chalky soil. Its arching stems reach 24 to 36 inches tall and wide, and butterflies visit the pink or white blooms. It sits low on the menu for deer. The plant tolerates drought and salt.

Pairs well with Lupine, Purple top, Lavender, and Oriental poppy.
