Notes

'Balbalmose' spotted beebalm (Monarda didyma 'Balbalmose') is a perennial for borders, pollinator gardens, cottage gardens, and rain gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full sun and average to wet, clay soil. Deer and rabbits usually look elsewhere for a meal. It forms a compact clump with fragrant pink flowers. Butterflies, hummingbirds, bees, and birds visit the blooms from early summer into autumn.

Pairs well with Joe Pye weed, Royal fern, and Big bluestem.
