Notes

Bee balm (Monarda didyma) is a perennial from the mint family, Lamiaceae. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant grows 24 to 48 inches tall and spreads 24 to 36 inches wide. Its height means it fits best in the middle or back of a bed. Allow enough space for its full spread so each clump has room to fill out.

Pairs well with Maiden grass, Walker's Low catmint, and Black-eyed Susan.
