Notes

'Balbalmurp' spotted beebalm (Monarda didyma 'Balbalmurp') is a perennial for borders, pollinator gardens, cottage gardens, and rain gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full sun and average to wet, clay soil. Deer and rabbits rarely make it their first choice. It forms a clump and grows at a moderate rate. The fragrant flowers draw butterflies, hummingbirds, bees, and birds.

Pairs well with Joe Pye weed, Little bluestem, Blue star, and Ruby Spice sweet pepperbush.
