Notes

'Balbeemin' spotted beebalm (Monarda didyma 'Balbeemin') is a perennial for borders, pollinator gardens, cottage gardens, and rain gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full sun and average to wet, clay soil. It forms a clump and has fragrant flowers. Butterflies, hummingbirds, bees, and birds visit the blooms. Deer and rabbits tend to pass it by.

Pairs well with Culver’s root, Joe Pye weed, Standing Ovation little bluestem, and Indian grass.
