Notes

'Balmy Lilac' spotted beebalm (Monarda didyma 'Balmy Lilac') is a perennial for borders, pollinator gardens, and containers. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist soil of most types. Its fragrant blooms attract butterflies, hummingbirds, bees, and birds. It is not a favorite of deer or rabbits, though hungry ones will eat almost anything. Erect stems grow at a moderate pace.

Pairs well with Fascination culver’s root, Lamb’s ear, and Waltraut sneezeweed.
