Notes

'Waltraut' sneezeweed (Helenium 'Waltraut') is a perennial for borders, pollinator gardens, cottage gardens, and rain gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full sun and average to wet soil of most types. Butterflies, hummingbirds, bees, and birds visit the blooms, which open in summer and again in autumn. It sits low on the menu for deer and rabbits. Plants grow about 35 to 47 inches tall.

Pairs well with Joe Pye weed, Little bluestem, and Mexican hat.
