Notes

'Balmy Rose' spotted beebalm (Monarda didyma 'Balmy Rose') is a perennial for borders, pollinator gardens, and containers. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist soil of most types. It stays compact at about 12 inches tall and has fragrant pink, purple, or red blooms in summer. Butterflies, hummingbirds, bees, and birds visit the flowers. Deer and rabbits rarely make it their first choice.

Pairs well with Fascination culver’s root, Waltraut sneezeweed, and Lamb’s ear.
