Notes

'Balou' rose (Rosa 'Balou') is a compact shrub for borders, containers, and cottage gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full sun and loamy or clay soil. Medium red, fragrant blooms open in late spring, early to late summer, and early autumn. Bees visit the flowers. Reinhard Noack bred it in 2013.

Pairs well with Rock rose, Little bluestem, and Evening primrose.
