Notes

Banana magnolia (Magnolia figo) is a shrub for borders, specimen planting, and hedges. It is hardy to USDA zone 8, or down to 10°F (-12°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Its creamy pale yellow flowers are fragrant and open in spring and summer. Deer usually look elsewhere for a meal. The dense evergreen foliage grows slowly, so plant it where you can enjoy the scent.

Pairs well with Star jasmine, Persimmon, and Bishop of Llandaff dahlia.
