Notes

'Elizabeth' magnolia (Magnolia 'Elizabeth') is a tree for specimen planting, borders, and pollinator gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Large, soft yellow, lightly fragrant flowers open in early to late spring, even on young plants. Bees, butterflies, and birds visit the tree. Give it a spot sheltered from cold, dry winds to protect the buds and flowers.

Pairs well with Quick Fire panicle hydrangea, Blue Angel hosta, Queen of Night tulip, and Christmas fern.
