Notes

Maiden grass (Miscanthus sinensis) is a grass for borders, specimen planting, and accents. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Its arching clumps bring pink to red blooms in summer and autumn, and birds visit the plant. It sits low on the menu for deer and rabbits. It also tolerates salt.

Pairs well with Joe-pyeweed, Spotted beebalm, and Blue fescue.
