Notes
'Benoit' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Benoit') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. It bears red blooms that suit a bouquet as well as the garden. Cut a few stems for a vase and enjoy the color indoors. Its flowers also add a bold splash of red to a mixed border.
Pairs well with Siberian iris, New England aster, and Stargazer lily.
