Notes

'Big Ben' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Big Ben') is a perennial for borders, cut flower gardens, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The fragrant, dark red double blooms open in early to mid spring. Each large bloom sits on a stiff stem, so it works well in a vase. Edward Auten, Jr bred it.

Pairs well with Siberian iris, Nepeta, and Little Beauty tulip.
