Notes

Bishop's hat (Epimedium youngianum) is a perennial for shade gardens, woodland borders, and groundcover. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes part to full shade and dry to average soil. It blooms in mid spring with light pinkish white flowers. It grows 6 to 9 inches tall and spreads 12 to 18 inches, so it fills in under taller plants.

Pairs well with Red trillium, Interrupted fern, and Catawba rhododendron.
