Notes

'Black Diamond' guava (Psidium guajava 'Black Diamond') is a fruit for the food garden. It grows outdoors year-round in USDA zone 9 and warmer, down to about 20°F (-7°C). In colder areas, grow it as a houseplant or bring it indoors for winter. This plant likes full or part sun. The fruit has burgundy-red skin and deep reddish pink flesh that tastes sweet. Young leaves are red, then age to burgundy and olive green. Fragrant white flowers open in early to late summer.

Pairs well with Tiger fig, Tamarillo, and Cleopatra canna.
