Notes

Hosta (Hosta plantaginea) is a clumping perennial for shade gardens, borders, containers, and specimen plantings. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full sun to full shade and average to moist, loamy soil. It grows slowly and forms a mound of gold and green leaves. White flowers are fragrant. It is not a favorite of deer or rabbits, though hungry ones will eat almost anything.

Pairs well with Aureola Japanese forest grass, Bigleaf hydrangea, and Astilbe.
