Notes

'Black Scallop' bugle (Ajuga reptans 'Black Scallop') is a perennial for ground cover, shade gardens, rock gardens, and borders. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full sun to full shade and average to wet soil of most types. It spreads fast and stays evergreen, so give it room or edge the bed. Deer and rabbits tend to browse other plants first. Bees and butterflies visit the spring blooms.

Pairs well with Green Spice coral bells, Krossa Regal hosta, and Cinnamon fern.
