Notes

'Black Stockings' daylily (Hemerocallis 'Black Stockings') is a perennial for borders and pollinator gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to average soil. The fragrant purple-black blooms have a green throat and open in spring and again in summer. It sits low on the menu for rabbits. Butterflies, hummingbirds, and bees visit the flowers.

Pairs well with Knapweed, Blonde Ambition blue grama, and Arizona Sun blanket flower.
