Notes

'Blaze of Fire' peony (Paeonia 'Blaze of Fire') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Its fragrant, double scarlet flowers have one row of large petals around a bomb center of finely cut petals. Deer and rabbits tend to browse other plants first. Heavy stems hold the blooms up.

Pairs well with Balloon flower, Culver’s root, and Little bluestem.
