Notes

'Blazer' peony (Paeonia 'Blazer') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and cottage gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. It bears rich red single flowers that are fragrant, and bees and butterflies visit the blooms. Deer and rabbits tend to pass it by. William Henry Krekler bred it.

Pairs well with Balloon flower, Culver’s root, and Standing Ovation little bluestem.
