Notes

'Blue Boy' cornflower (Centaurea cyanus 'Blue Boy') is an annual for borders, cut flowers, pollinator gardens, and cottage gardens. Cool weather suits it, and it can take a light frost. This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It blooms in spring and summer, and butterflies, bees, and birds visit the flowers. It is also drought tolerant. It is not a favorite of deer, though hungry deer will eat almost anything.

Pairs well with Supertunia Royal Velvet petunia, Zahara Starlight Rose zinnia, and Red fescue.
