Notes
'Blue Glow' globe thistle (Echinops bannaticus 'Blue Glow') is a perennial for borders and low maintenance gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to average, sandy, loamy, or chalky soil. Steel blue flower globes open in early to late summer and again in early to late autumn. Butterflies and bees visit the blooms, and the plant tolerates drought. Deer and rabbits rarely make it their first choice.
Pairs well with Knapweed, Blue grama, and Blush peony.
