Notes
'Taplow Blue' globe thistle (Echinops bannaticus 'Taplow Blue') is a perennial for borders and low maintenance gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry, sandy, loamy, or chalky soil. It grows 47 to 59 inches tall and spreads 24 to 36 inches. Butterflies and bees visit the blue flower globes, and the plant tolerates drought. Deer and rabbits tend to browse other plants first.
Pairs well with Coneflower, Yarrow, Silver feather grass, and Black-eyed Susan.
