Notes
Globe thistle (Echinops bannaticus) is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and pollinator gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full sun and average moisture. Round blue flower heads appear in mid to late summer. The plant grows 48 to 72 inches tall and 18 to 24 inches wide, so give it room at the back of the bed.
Pairs well with Pincushion flower, Gladiator ornamental onion, and Flamingo Feather celosia.
