Notes
'Brilliant' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Brilliant') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. It bears single, large, aster purple flowers early in the season. The flowers rise high above the foliage and show pink disks and hairy carpels with bright red tips. The plant spreads, so give it room.
Pairs well with Tickseed, Cinnamon fern, and Carnaval De Nice tulip.
