Notes

Buddha's belly bamboo (Bambusa ventricosa) is a grass for containers, hedges, and low maintenance gardens. It grows outdoors year-round in USDA zone 9 and warmer, down to about 20°F (-7°C). In colder areas, grow it as a houseplant or bring it indoors for winter. This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, loamy soil. It is evergreen and can reach 40 to 55 feet tall. It sits low on the menu for deer. Its form suits a screen or a tall potted accent.

Pairs well with Boxwood, Aureola Japanese forest grass, and Clematis.
