Notes

'Buffalo' savin juniper (Juniperus sabina 'Buffalo') is a shrub for borders, rock gardens, and ground cover. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to average, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It is not a favorite of deer, though hungry deer will eat almost anything. This evergreen is drought tolerant, and it grows at a moderate rate with arching branches.

Pairs well with Mugo pine, White Swan coneflower, and Blonde Ambition blue grama.
