Notes

'Burnished Bronze' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Burnished Bronze') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. It stays short at about 18 inches tall and has dark foliage on good stems. The single, dark chocolate-red blooms open early and carry matching dark tipped stigmas, with 2 to 3 buds per stem. Roy G. Klehm bred it.

Pairs well with Siberian iris, Little Beauty tulip, and Sensitive fern.
