Notes
'Buttercup' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Buttercup') is a perennial with fragrant white flowers of the Japanese form. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average moisture. It blooms in mid to late spring above dark foliage that grows 30 to 36 inches tall and wide. Lyman D. Glasscock bred it. Deer and rabbits rarely make it their first choice.
Pairs well with Purrsian Blue nepeta, Pink Impression tulip, and Royal fern.
