Notes
California lady's slipper (Cypripedium californicum) is a perennial for woodland gardens, shade gardens, and collectors. It is hardy to USDA zone 7, or down to 0°F (-18°C). This plant likes part sun and moist soil. Each upper leaf axil holds a yellow-green flower with a white pouch, and many flowers often face the same direction. Stems form clumps and carry 3 to 10 flowers. Blooms open from spring into early summer.
Pairs well with Sorrel, Cobra lily, and Snake's head.
